    Favorite Trail:Creekside
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
    Purchased At:Extreme Sports, Maui
Strengths:Fairly light, fun downhiller, comfortable cockpit
Weaknesses:What do you call a quadrapalegic in a swimming pool?
Similar Products Used:Jamis Dakar Pro, Giant NRS 1, Devinci Arrowhead, Kona King Kikapu
    Bike Setup:Stock
Bottom Line:Rented this bike in Maui and rode Kula Forest Reserve. Rode it for almost 4 hours, so got good feel for what its got. There is a viscious amount of bob to it, making climbing on it a real sucker. But I do suspect that may be fixed with a better rear shock like a Fox Float R or RL, especially since the geometry is suitable for a true XC bike. Downhill, though, it was very supple in sketchy stuff and very easy to maneuver. Stock parts worked fine, but they are Deore, so there's no telling how long they'll last. Plus, there's plenty of options for shaving weight which, with new rear susp., would make this a pretty fun XC bike.

    Date Reviewed: April 24, 2002
    Favorite Trail:Cut Yer Bars
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $900.00
    Purchased At:Simons Bike Shop
Strengths:Great price for what you get, strong frame, good to build up componants if you don't have the cash to splurge on and it's Canadian
Weaknesses:Rims, get new ones or you'll have a taco in no time
Similar Products Used:none I had a Specialized Hard Rock
    Bike Setup:Stock for now
Bottom Line:If you don't have a ton of cash but want tobe able to build up a bike this one will be awesome. Rockys' are strong bikes and can handle some abuse, mind you this is a entry level duelie, but an entry level Rocky is better than most>>>
