    Date Reviewed: October 12, 2007
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $8.00
    Purchased At:Performance Bike
    Strengths:None.
Weaknesses:I bought an 8 ounce bottle and filled two tubes. Within two weeks, I had two flats (no fault of the product--just bad luck), both of which resulted in tiny holes in the tube--something the product should easily have guarded against according to its claims. Product did not prevent a flat, and did not seal the puncture when I reinflated the tube and spun the wheel to distribute the product as instructed on the true goo website. What it did do was make a supreme mess inside the tire, outside the valve stem, on my hands, etc.
    Similar Products Used:None.
Bike Setup:Cannondale cyclocross bike with Maxxis Larsen Mimo Cross Tire 700x35.
Bottom Line:Put your money towards something else that works, like a tire liner.

    Strengths:Absolutely none
    Weaknesses:It just doesn't work
    Similar Products Used:Slime
    Bike Setup:Trek 4500 MTB
Bottom Line:Absolute waste of money -- it just doesn't work at all -- 2 tubes gone in 2 months with no protection whatsoever -- please note that patches just don't hold on tubes that has Goo in them -- Slime instead (tube with Slime lasted 2.5 years and 4 holes) -- avoid.

    Price Paid: $10.00
    Strengths:Couldn't find any.
Weaknesses:Gets flat like a regular tube, at TWICE the price.
    Bike Setup:10-speed road bike.
Bottom Line:A waste of money as far as I'm concerned. I will stock up on regular tubes, instead.

    Date Reviewed: March 12, 2006
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:seals very small holes in tubes
Weaknesses:Eats through tube patches rendering it useless
Similar Products Used:none. going to stick eith tire liners
    Bike Setup:titus
Bottom Line:This will not work with tube patches. It eats through them as soon as you start riding. Some went in 15 mins, others took almost an hour. 3 of 5 tubes failed in the first ride. It seems to seal real small pin (tiny) sized holes, but I had a very small glass hole and it wouldn't seal that. This was nothing near the size of a pinch tear or anything, but I ended up with all the sealant coming out of the tube.
Overall, this was a complete failure to try and use in tubes.

Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
    Price Paid: $6.00
Purchased At:The guys shop that invented True Goo in Longmont, Colorado
Strengths:It works! I have ridden with True-Goo for five years with NO FLATS!
Weaknesses:I had to drill out my presta rims by so that I could replace the tubes with regular tubes.
    Similar Products Used:Slime
    Bike Setup:Mountain and Recumbent
Bottom Line:This stuff really has worked miracles for me. I have used True-Goo for over five years and have NEVER had a flat tire.
I have ridden on paved trails and the toughest single tracks available in Colorado and it has never failed me! TRUE GOO FOR ME FOREVER!

    Favorite Trail:the one i'm on
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Purchased At:two wheel drive
Strengths:You can put it in presta valve tubes
    Weaknesses:It doesn't work
Similar Products Used:slime, preslimed tires, specialized airlock, tire liners
    Bike Setup:trailbike built strong
Bottom Line:I gave this stuff more than a few chances. It only worked a few times. Most of the time the thin liquid would just spew out of the tire coating my bike. I live in goathead heaven, so finding a sealant that works is a must. This stuff just doesn't match up to the specialized tubes or slime. It may be lighter than slime, but what does it matter? My suggestion is to use bottled slime with your own tubes. That way you can control the tube quality and the amount of slime used yourself.

Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
    Price Paid: $7.00
    Purchased At:Bicycle World
Strengths:Works very weel better than Slime or any other sealents. Also you can get it into Presta valves its alittle tricky but you can and it will save you money
Similar Products Used:Slime, no more flates and all the other sealents you can get at walmart or k-mart type places
Bike Setup:I ride Bmx dirt & Street. Mtn bike and road bike I use it in all of them because colorado has alot of goat heads that get very big
Bottom Line:This stuff works the best I have worked in bike shops for 12 years and this is by far the one of the best flat preventatives out there next too thorne resistant tubes and tire liners. Yet ways less thean tr tubes and liners.

    Strengths:Durable
    Weaknesses:Heavy
    Similar Products Used:Specialized
    Bike Setup:Specialized Stumpjumper Pro XC
Bottom Line:I have used these tubes since the beginning of the year when I caught a thorn in the first race of the year. No flats yet and I am used to at least 1 per month. These tubes are heavier but for peace of mind I will stick with True Goo. I recommend them for racers who don't want to worry and the everyday rider who doesn't want to change flats often.

Submitted by Will a Weekend Warrior from Texas
    Date Reviewed: January 27, 2000
    Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:Seals better than slime, moves more freely in tube than slime
Weaknesses:more expensive that slime, 1 in 3 valves usually have a slow leak
    Similar Products Used:Slime
Bike Setup:Mantra Race, XT / XTR, IRC Mythos
Bottom Line:This type of product is a necessity for me (live in West Texas) and it works well. I have had the same tubes in for about 6 months. I have to air them back up usually every 2 to 3 rides (maybe I am just being picky in that regard). They have sealed everything from goatheads to mesquite thorns, so I would say that they do a good jobs. Also, the fluid isn't as viscous as slime, so you aren't bounced around on the asphalt to the trailhead.

    Keeps flats away!!!
    Weaknesses:
    a little heavy

    Bike Setup:
    Specialized M2 w/Jury T2
Bottom Line:I have had my tubes foir about 3 months now and no FLATS!! It works great. I have had time before I got them that I would go to the garage and have both on my tires flat. Once I had to repair a toal of 6 puncture hols from thorns at one time! With the new tubes not one at all except for maybe once from a thorn but by the time I got around to checking it out at home there was not a leak to be found. As far as I am concerend there is no reason to not use them eventhough there is a bit of a weight penalty. The extra weight is worth the peace of mind. GREAT PRODUCT and woprth every penny.

    Date Reviewed: October 12, 1998
    Bottom Line:

I used True Goo and loaded it through a puncture but had to stretch the hole slightly (maybe 1/8 or 1/16 Inch). Anyway, used an instant stick patch repair to fix the hole after pouring the Goo in. To cut along story short the hole leaked slowly after 1 ride and I found the patch didn't hold properly and I had a complete flat 24 hours later. I then re-fixed using a proper cement and valcunizing patch which isn't quite as quick and convenient but well worth the extra work (and saves time re-repairng in the long run) as the end result is a repair that truely molds itself and becomes part of the tube. There is no way that old hole will rupture again. Just a warning to everyone. Use proper cement and rubber vulacanizing patches, don't waste your time with the instant pre-glued types - They're absolute rubbish!
True Goo seems to work for pinhole type punctures but I got the feeling the Slime brand (Only $6.99 at Target) has better integrity. I'd go for tire liners first and see if this works for your area of riding before trying the added weight of goo. I've got both and it's holding up since using decent patches on the original puncture.
Why doesn't a maunfacturer line the actual tire with kevlar to increase tube protection?
    Ta ta for Now.

    Date Reviewed: January 12, 1998
    Bottom Line:

After using these tubes (True Goo) no more flats due to thorns. Period. I have patched my front tire
7 times and my rear 9 times and still I wake up in the morning with flat tires.
I saw a demonstration where a tire was punctured with a phillips screw driver, and the tire sealed up
no more leak. This was done 3 times in a row and the tire only lost about 5 pounds of air.
    Excellent product for out here.
